Prior to founding PECMAN in 2006, Mr. Pecman served as President of Levi Strauss North America from 2000-2006 where he was responsible for driving all aspects of Levi’s retail strategy in North America.
Background of the company
Pecman, an international consultancy and digital agency headquartered in Amsterdam celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. The company was founded in 1988 by Pieter Pecman, who was later joined by his brother Erik. They started out designing print ads for clients such as Heineken and Philips before the internet came along and changed everything. These days they do both design and coding.
A History of the Company
Founded by Philip Pecman in 1988, the company has grown to become one of the top 100 corporations in America. In 1989, the company opened its doors and became the first publically traded investment firm. The same year, they were given regulatory approval to sell mutual funds. Since then, they have gone on to offer more than 3,000 funds and services for their clients.
Even as they grew, Pecman has continued to give back to their clients and their local community. In 1990, they launched Pecman Gives Back, which is their company-wide initiative for charitable contributions. They have raised tens of millions of dollars for schools across America. This year, in celebration of 30 years, Pecman launched its Anniversary Fund Drive, which offers shares in 2016’s top-performing funds at half price in exchange for donations to charity that will make a difference in our communities around the world.
The Question Behind the Doodle
This year marks Pecman’s 30th anniversary, and to celebrate the event, this month they will be releasing their first-ever Pecman-branded doodle. The doodle is based on the current logo, which consists of the word PECMAN in all caps with an exclamation point at the end. The doodle is a play on words that says PECMAN 30th! but also spells out P! (i.e. pecman), E! (i.e., eminence), and so on, until it reaches M! N!! (i.e. man!).
There are two explanations for why this doodle exists: one from a brand perspective and one from a legal perspective. A company spokesperson told us, We’re thrilled to share our enthusiasm for the company’s birthday milestone by commemorating 30 years through an homage to our icon.
He went on to say The future holds many exciting opportunities as we continue to grow around the world, implying that Pecman expects much more in store for them over the next few decades. According to legal analysts, there may have been another motive behind the release of this product trademarking potential variations of eminence spelled with different capitalizations or punctuation.
What Will Happen Next?
This year, Pecman is celebrating its 30th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the company has released a doodle of what its logo will look like in 2022. The doodle features an illustration of the current Pecman logo and shows how it will evolve to be more modernized by 2022.
On top of that, they also announced that they are partnering up with Khan Academy to provide free online lessons for all learners. This is big news for Pecman as it seeks to reach new audiences and make learning accessible to everyone. On top of all of that, Pecman announced that they’re celebrating 30 years in business and are looking forward to new ventures in online learning.
For example, Pecman has partnered up with Khan Academy to provide free online lessons for learners worldwide. With these efforts, it’s no wonder so many businesses have come to rely on Pecman’s staffing services as well as their other offerings. In fact, they seem set on taking over any industry they choose to touch!
